About Hillside Nursery!

Hillside Nursery was built in 1958. In 1980 Joe Batchelder who worked at Hillside since he was 12 years old bought the nursery and made it into what it is today. Joe's wife and two children and a couple of employees work at Hillside, Joe wanted to keep Hillside the way it was ran back in the 60's but with the times comes new change. He believes that our customers are like our extended family, We see our customers more than our own family each year. Some great values have stuck with us as being loyal to our customers, providing family oriented service and providing you with that one on one service. As the years progressed we opened up a wide range opportunities, In 2002 we purchased some land in NJ and turned that into a Sod Farm, Now we can provide fresh cut sod daily. We also grow some of our trees and shrubs on our land. In 2010 we opened up a new florist department that Joe's daughter Jennifer run's.

I am sure you are wondering were we get a cow for cow pie bingo's, well besides Hillside Nursery we also live and work on a farm, We raise Clydesdale horses and Jersey cows. We compete at local and far away shows with our animals. We are also a proud supporter of the Dairy club at the Delaware Co 4-H program witch kids from Delaware co can learn how to take care of cows and know what it is like working on a farm. Joe's daughter Jennifer is the leader for the dairy club and she teaches the kids how to take care of the cows, She also get's them involved with showing and for the 2nd time in the history of Delaware co we have a dairy princess.
